About Our Farm

Willow Farm is a small family-run farm run by Nigel and Lorraine. The farm produces hay across three meadows, grows fruit such as cherries, plums, blackberries and pears and has livestock including rare breed sheep, Pygmy goats, a horse, rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens. The free range eggs are sold to the local community. This year Willow Farm will be growing fresh salad and vegetables on the farm which will offer more produce to sell to the local community.  The farm continues to grow and new exciting additions are planned in the near future.

Lorraine has worked in a variety of professions such as veterinary nursing, caring for the elderly, legal secretary and working with children with disabilities, autism and Down’s syndrome.  With Lorraine’s love of animals and working with vulnerable children it is no surprise that it has long been an ambition of hers to start a care farm and after years of planning these plans have finally come to fruition with the help and support of her husband Nigel and her now adult children Lucy and Tom.

Lorraine and Nigel's daughter Lucy also helps on the  farm.  Lucy has worked with children and adults with learning disabilities, autism and Down’s syndrome since leaving school so has 17 years experience in this field.  Lucy has a degree in Early Childhood and Special Education and is a Primary School Teacher.

Lorraine says that her husband Nigel does all the real farming work such as the building, repairing, machinery work, maintenance and hay making etc around the farm where as Lorraine’s domain is the animals and day to day routine tasks except when all hands are on deck at hay making to get all the crop in as quickly as possible.
