Frequently asked questions

What Would You Like to Know?

FAQ: FAQ

What do you grow?

At present we grow fruit such as pears, plums and cherries.  Our hay meadows are harvested in the summer and the bales are sold for animal feed.  We also grow strawberries, salads, vegetables and flowers.

Do you have animals and are they friendly?

We have such lovely friendly animals here on the farm.  We have chickens, goats, a horse, rabbits, guinea pigs and some rather special sheep.  Our adult sheep are coloured ryelands which look like little brown bears when they have their winter fleeces and their lambs which were born in spring 2021 are crossed with valais black nose sheep.  If you look on the gallery you will see some beautiful pictures of the lambs and they just love a cuddle.

Is there lots to do on the farm?

There is always something to do on the farm either with the animals or the crops and the buildings.  Things are much slower in the winter due to the weather but as soon as it gets drier the work picks up and we make hay whilst the sun shines.

What do the children do?

Children who attend the farm undertake real farm work on a real life farm.  The children get hands on with all of the cleaning out of the animals, feeding, animal husbandry which has to be done regularly.  They also do a lot of planting in the raised beds and harvesting.  All aspects of the farming life are experienced here which we find the children absolutely love.
