Well this week we got our new website up and running which was something we have needed to do for a little while, another thing ticked off the list. We are looking forward to welcoming our junior farmers to Willow Farm next month, it is going to be a very exciting time. There is always so much going on here so there is never a dull moment and never a shortage of things to do whether it’s feeding the animals, cleaning out the shelters or pruning the trees, there is something for everyone. One thing we all enjoy is spending time with the animals as they really do love the interaction as much as we do. The lambs just love lying against you for a cuddle if you sit in the field with them whilst mum goes off to graze which then causes a problem as who can deny a lamb a cuddle even though there’s work to be done! One of my jobs was giving Dave Chuckles the hen a bath. She was not too pleased even though it was lovely warm water. She seems to like to roost on the floor so can get a bit untidy and therefore a little bath is in order now and again. It was a warm day but she was not impressed at all, she went into the coop and refused to come out🙄. I’m sure she will be fine. Today (Saturday), it is terrible weather here in the the heart of Kent, wet, windy and cold. The lambs are venturing out with their mums but do not look too impressed at all. The horse is nice and dry with his shower rug on and the goats are going between their house and under the trailer as they hate the rain. We are so looking forward to some nicer weather as we still have so much to do before haymaking starts again. I will try to post some more updates with some nice pictures to entertain you. We will be having the sheep sheared soon so hopefully that rarely seen warmer weather will decide to come out to play.🙂
